Exciting Partnership Announced

Smyrna Soccer Club and Georgia Premier Soccer announce Partnership
Smyrna soccer to rebuild as one of the Global Premier Soccer network of clubs

Georgia Premier Soccer and Smyrna Soccer Club have announced a partnership for the 2013-2014 soccer season and beyond.  Georgia Premier Soccer is an affiliate of Global Premier Soccer, one of the largest soccer organizations in the United States who currently operate in 10 states.

Global Premier Soccer has become a leading source of US Youth National team players in recent years with two GPS players currently in the U-15 National team and three players developed by GPS selected to the US U-17 Residency program.

Smyrna Soccer Club has been in existence since 1988 and recently received an injection of energy with the election of a number of new Board members who are working to build a new legacy for soccer in Smyrna.

“We at Global Premier Soccer are excited to work with the Smyrna community to create an enhanced player development experience for Smyrna players,” said Joe Bradley, General Manager of Global Premier Soccer.  “It is clear that Smyrna has an excellent base to their player pool and now has new leadership with the vision to take the club forward.  That combined with our sports management expertise and our professional coaches will immediately impact the soccer culture in Smyrna.”

The multi-faceted agreement will include the addition of GPS staff in key roles with a new Director of Coaching, Richard Harcus and a new role Player Development Officer, Andrew Frawley.  Richard holds his UEFA B license, has an English FA license in Club Management and has previous experience with Barcelona’s Academy in Singapore and Arsenal’s Academy in Vietnam.  Andrew has a degree in Sports Management and holds a Football Association of Ireland level 2 Coaching license.

“We have seen the work Global Premier Soccer has done in other states and the impact they have had on their partner clubs,” said Smyrna Soccer Club Board Member Jon Anderson.  “They have a track record of success in growing club numbers, improving systems and developing players and successful teams.  GPS will have a strong presence in the Recreational side of the club supporting coaches and improving the overall soccer experience for all families who are members of SSC.”

Georgia Premier Soccer will begin work with Smyrna as of July 8th.  For more information please contact Natalie Yozzo at natyozzo@bellsouth.net or Richard Harcus at rharcus@globalpremiersoccer.com.
